Officially on Summer Break!!!

Summer Break has officially started for Ohio Northern University. I started off my week with changing my work schedule to get a few more hours in. I work for an auctioneer and its the greatest job ever! I enjoy so many things about it. Such as, the atmosphere my boss spends his free time volunteering as a shriners clown, he is honestly one of the funniest people I know. I enjoy working with my coworkers that also cashier for auctions for example during auctions not only do we work but we get to chat about the products being sold as well as our careers and interests. Being able to talk to people in my profession is crucial to me. Its one of the most rewarding parts of this position. I get to learn about peoples daily lives and typically the same people go to auctions every week so I gain strong client relationships with them. For example all our our permanent number bidders know me by my first name and are curious about how I am doing. A lot of them congratulate me on personal successes in life. Its such an interesting and fun job for someone who enjoys antiques and a lively workspace.

Outside of work currently I am spending a lot of time in my garden growing various vegetables. Some of those being lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, radishes, green beans, snap peas, etc. I love canning vegetables over the summer with my mom as well as cooking new dishes with my garden grown goods. Currently we have been having a lot of rain in western Ohio which my garden loves, yet it restricts how much time I get to spend on it outside. I encourage anyone who is able to start a garden to do so! It is such a fun project to do. Some great starter plants are radishes which can grow absolutely anywhere and beans as they do not need a lot of assistance and are very self sufficient.
